On Friday the 27th, Cyclone and Bulldog fans filled Jerry Kersey Gymnasium. The Lady Cyclones put on an outstanding show, the final score being 83-9.
Unlike the past couple of games, the Lady Cyclones seemed to be firing on all cylinders. Senior guard, Dee Arrieta, hit a few threes throughout the course of the game and Haley Simental added a couple as well.
The team’s inside game didn’t look bad either as every post on the roster managed to score. For the first time in a while it seemed that on both sides of the floor, the Lady Cyclones were intense, getting steal after steal and converting on the fastbreak.
By the end of the first half the Cyclones had scored 53 and kept the Bulldogs scoreless. The second half started off much as the same as the first quarter with the Cyclones making even more of a lead, ending the game with an outstanding score of Cyclones 83 Bulldogs 9.
Senior post Destinie Jones said ” I thought we worked really hard, our defense was definitely more intense than in the past couple games. It was a good team win and everyone contributed. ” Coach Wilkinson would go on to say that the girls had played with good intensity.
The Lady Cyclones are now 15- 2 and have a bye on Tuesday, but will play at Central next Friday.
