Pueblo Central Wildcats leap to regions and off to state

Saturday October 29th, the Pueblo Central co-op Wildcats gymnastic team tackled regionals. The team scored a 164.6 and multiple gymnasts placed in the top 8. Regionals was held in three different places: region one, Overland High School; region two, Mountain Range High School; and region three, Arvada West High School.

The Pueblo Central Wildcats competed at Mountain Range High School against 9 other teams. They placed 3rd overall. Kelsi Cundiff, Jada Martinez, and Grace Braune all placed within the top 8, and Braune placed 2nd All-Arounder.

When asked how the Regionals meet went, Braune answered, “It was definitely not our best meet of the season, but we still placed third and qualified for state, and that’s all that matters.”

Now qualified for state, the Wildcats are off to compete against all 4A teams.

The 2016 State Meet will be held at Thornton High School, November 3 though to the 5. “State will hopefully go better than regionals, we will definitely place in the top three”, Braune declared.

March-Out and opening ceremony will be at 3:50 pm. and the competition will begin at 4:00 pm.
