Thursday, February 9, 2012. The Pueblo West Lady Cyclones and the East Eagles prepared for a battle on the Cyclones’ home court known as Jerry Kersey Gym. The Cyclones came into this game with 17 wins and only 3 losses, while the Eagles held a record of 7 wins and 11 losses. The fans were ready for the exhibition to begin as 7 pm rolled around. The jump ball was won by the Cyclones who drove it down the court only to have a foul called against them in the first 30 seconds of play. Luckily, the free throw was missed and the game went on, with no score in the first minute. The Cyclones’ offense went down the court again and scored. West blows County away
Friday, February 17, 2012, the Lady Cyclones hosted their District 70 and Southern Colorado League rival, The Pueblo County Hornets. This night was not only the last regular season game for the Cyclones, but was also their senior night. As the start of the game came around, the Cyclones lined up all of their varsity seniors, who would eventually take the court as starters. DeeAnna Arrieta, Destinie Jones, Sarah Vigil, Bailey Ford, and Shadae Brody played their last regular season game in their high school career. The jump ball ignited the battle that would take place on the Cyclones home court. The Cyclones quickly gained control and made first contact with the ball, driving down the court. Their first drive proved literally pointless though, and the Hornets took their turn at the hoop but scored no points either.
